Ordering & Delivery
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to most metro and regional locations across Australia.
Some remote areas, islands and restricted postcodes may not be available for certain larger products due to freight limitations.
The easiest way to confirm whether we can deliver to you, along with the applicable delivery fee, is to enter your postcode at checkout.
How long does delivery take?
As a general guide:
Metro areas: approximately 3 to 8 business days
Regional and rural areas: approximately 5 to 12 business days
Delivery times are estimates only and can vary depending on your location, the product ordered, warehouse location, courier availability and busy periods.
For the most accurate delivery information and applicable freight charge, please enter your postcode at checkout.
How much is delivery?
Delivery charges vary depending on the size and weight of the product and your delivery postcode.
Enter your postcode during checkout and the available delivery options and charges will be calculated before you complete your purchase.
Where are your products shipped from?
Our products are dispatched from Australian warehouses.
Stock may be held in different warehouse locations, so delivery times can vary depending on the product you order and your location.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, tracking information will be provided where available so you can follow your delivery.
Please allow some time after dispatch for the courier's tracking system to update.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your delivery details.
Once an order has been processed or dispatched, we may not be able to change the address.
Additional freight charges may also apply if a courier needs to redirect an order.
Choosing a Ride-On Car
What age are your ride-on cars suitable for?
The recommended age varies between models.
Many ride-on cars are designed for younger children, while larger and more powerful models may be suitable for older kids.
Always check the individual product description, dimensions, weight limits and recommended age before purchasing.
Adult supervision is recommended whenever a child is using a ride-on vehicle.
What is the difference between 12V and 24V ride-on cars?
Generally:
12V ride-on cars are a great option for younger children and normal backyard or paved use.
24V ride-on cars usually offer more power and may be better suited to larger vehicles, older children or slightly more demanding surfaces.
Motor configuration, vehicle weight, wheel type and other specifications can also affect performance, so voltage should not be the only factor you consider.
How fast do kids ride-on cars go?
Speed varies depending on the model, battery, motors and vehicle design.
Most children's ride-on vehicles are designed to operate at relatively low speeds suitable for supervised recreational use.
Check the specifications on the individual product page for the maximum speed of the vehicle you are considering.
Can two children ride together?
Some models are designed with two seats, while others are designed for a single child.
Even if a vehicle has two seats, always check the manufacturer's maximum weight capacity before allowing two children to use it together.
Do the cars come with a parental remote control?
Many of our ride-on cars include a parental remote control, but this varies between models.
Where included, the remote allows a parent or supervising adult to control or override the vehicle.
Check the individual product description to confirm whether a remote control is included.
Can the cars drive on grass?
Many models can handle short, relatively flat grass, particularly larger or more powerful vehicles.
Performance can vary significantly depending on the motor configuration, battery voltage, wheel type, vehicle weight and the condition of the grass.
For regular use on grass or uneven surfaces, we generally recommend looking at one of the larger 24V or off-road style models.
Can they be used on hills?
Ride-on cars perform best on flat or gently sloping surfaces.
Steep hills can place additional strain on the motors and battery and may not be safe.
Always supervise children and follow the manufacturer's operating recommendations.
Batteries & Charging
How long does the battery last?
Battery run time varies depending on the model and how it is being used.
Factors such as the child's weight, terrain, speed setting, motor configuration and battery condition can all affect run time.
Please refer to the specifications on the individual product page for information relating to that particular model.
How long does the battery take to charge?
Charging times vary between products and battery types.
Always follow the charging instructions supplied with your ride-on vehicle.
For battery health and safety, only use the supplied or manufacturer-approved charger.
Should I charge the car before first use?
Yes. We recommend fully charging the battery according to the manufacturer's instructions before the first use.
What should I do if the car is not being used for a while?
Rechargeable batteries should not generally be left completely discharged for extended periods.
Follow the battery maintenance instructions supplied with your vehicle, particularly if storing it for several weeks or months.
Assembly
Do the ride-on cars arrive assembled?
Most ride-on cars require some assembly after delivery.
The level of assembly varies between models and may include fitting items such as wheels, steering wheels, seats, windscreens or other components.
Instructions are included with the product where applicable.
Is assembly difficult?
Most vehicles are designed for straightforward home assembly using basic tools.
Assembly difficulty varies between models.
We recommend reading the supplied instructions carefully before use and checking that all components are securely installed.
Warranty, Returns & Problems
Do your ride-on cars come with a warranty?
Yes. Products sold by Kids Car Yard are covered by applicable warranties and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty periods and conditions can vary between products and components.
Please see our Warranty Information page for full details.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery.
If your product arrives damaged, faulty or with missing components, contact us as soon as possible with:
Your order number
A description of the issue
Clear photos or video showing the problem
Photos of the packaging if there is visible freight damage
This helps us assess the issue and arrange the appropriate next steps as quickly as possible.
Can I return my order if I change my mind?
Change-of-mind returns are subject to the conditions outlined in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Because ride-on vehicles are large freight items, return shipping costs can be significant.
We recommend carefully checking the product dimensions, specifications, age suitability and features before ordering.
What if something stops working?
Contact our customer support team with your order number and a description of the issue.
Photos or a short video can often help us identify the problem much faster.
Depending on the issue, we may provide troubleshooting assistance, replacement components or another solution in accordance with the applicable warranty and Australian Consumer Law.
Payments & Orders
What payment methods do you accept?
Available payment methods are displayed securely at checkout.
How do I know my order has been received?
Once your order has been successfully placed, you should receive an order confirmation by email.
If you cannot find it, check your junk or spam folder before contacting us.
Can I cancel an order?
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as quickly as possible.
We will do our best to assist, however orders that have already been processed or dispatched may not be able to be cancelled.
Safety
Are kids ride-on cars safe?
Ride-on vehicles should always be used responsibly and under adult supervision.
Children should use the vehicle in an appropriate area away from roads, traffic, swimming pools, steep slopes, stairs and other hazards.
Always follow the manufacturer's age, weight, charging and operating instructions.
Should children wear a helmet?
For ride-on vehicles where a helmet is recommended by the manufacturer, or where the type of vehicle or riding environment warrants additional protection, appropriate safety equipment should be used.
Adult supervision should always be provided.
